The Company

My client designs, installs and supports a range of electronic key and locker management solutions to blue chip organisations across the world. Their products have won the Queen’s Award for Innovation several times. They are world leaders in applications for a wide variety of channel markets including Government, MOD, Prisons, Education, Fleet and Distribution Centres.

The Role

The test engineer will specify, develop and carry out tests on new and existing company products under development. The role requires both driving and contributing to test requirements of systems and the ability to communicate these clearly to other members of the R&D team. The test engineer will work with the R&D team to develop the test equipment and test stations along with the subsequent testing needed to evaluate and prove the quality and performance of the company products. The role takes full responsibility for all of the testing of the company’s products, ensuring effective problem solving and resolution actions are implemented effectively. The role liaises with all relevant departments to manage all processes associated with effective testing, ensuring that they are continuously monitored and that changes to improve quality and efficiency are identified and implemented.

The Candidate

Personal characteristics: A keen interest in electronics/software interfaces and willing to learn and develop further. Ability to work across several projects simultaneously without loss of efficiency or productivity. Willing to listen and learn, treating criticism in a positive manner. Self motivated Experience: Computer science or other related engineering field qualification. 3+ years practical experience in product test/software test/quality assurance engineering. 3+ years writing test plans. Manual testing experience is required.
